Reynauld’s SyndromeReynauld’s Syndrome is a condition in which the blood vessels in the fingers, toes, ears and nose contract. Attacks are normally brought on by cold (and sometimes are related to stress) and result in a colour change in the effected part, along with numbness and coldness. In Chinese Medicine terms, Reynauld’s is normally associated with Deficiency of Yang, which means a lack of vital heat in the body. Acupuncture and moxibustion and nutritional advice can all be used to increase the Yang and improve circulation to reduce both the frequency and severity of attacks. Results are normally excellent following a course of treatment. |
